The Thrill Is Gone

It was an interesting week, with people wearing their goulashes to work with business attire and others running in from the torrential down pour with their slickers drenched. The sky was dark and ominous and we all hunkered down, hoping each day would be an early release day from the office.

Once I dried off a bit, I forgot it was raining outside.

The rain continued each morning and into the afternoons, and when I left, I couldn’t help but enjoy the it. The rain was dripping in my hair and on my face. My car sloshed along behind the others and I decided to snap this little shot. I got a little carried away with my camera and caught myself paying more attention to the splashing cars around me than to my driving.

Here’s to a rain filled week. It was fun!

Rustic

After about three miles of light hiking and exploring, we came upon rolling hills covered in a field of grass amidst the mountains.

This pump doesn't seem to be used anymore, but I imagine that at one time it was an important part of someone's life. Perhaps to water the field, or bring water to tired work horses or cattle, or maybe there was once a family that drank the water that this pump brought from the dry ground.
